“Drone Station” transforms pigeons on a wire into a playful urban concept, blending tech language, close observation, and the strange precision of birds moving through the city.
Before we had drones, we had pigeons and this is one of the many functions we can add to the extensive resume of the humble pigeon. They served in the first method of spying and aerial photography, sent out with a camera attached and of course, reliably returned. The front design pigeon, ironically named Faraday, looks like his battery is about fully charged. The back view shows gathered on power lines what has long been part of the city’s visual language, yet the scene can feel oddly engineered—perched, alert, networked. Who knows really what they're up to? It’s a fun design for anyone but a special nod to the bird's aren’t real crowd!
